I started out inspecting cement plants.
Now I find the leaks in service businesses' client systems. It's the same job.
My first job was at Lafarge, as a licensed mechanical engineer: inspecting equipment, writing risk assessments, supervising plant maintenance. Not glamorous. But it taught me the one thing I still use every day. When something breaks, you don't just fix it. You work out why it broke, then rebuild it so it can't break that way again.
In 2016 I took what I thought was a short side gig with a nutrition company. Ten years later I'm still with them. Along the way I stopped being someone who does tasks for clients and became someone who builds the thing that does the tasks: the funnel, the follow-up, the members area, the automation that ties it together.
These days I build client systems in GoHighLevel for coaches, consultants and experts who run a service business, and write the small apps that hold an operation together when off-the-shelf tools stop. I'm based in the Philippines, and I work with people who'd rather hand the whole path to one person than manage four.
How I work
- Diagram first
- I map your path from first click to paid client before I build anything, the way I used to draw equipment before touching it.
- Find the cause
- When a sequence underperforms, I don't start by rewriting the email. I look for the stage upstream that sent it the wrong people.
- Keep a log
- A system is a machine that wears down if nobody watches it. I keep notes on every change, so nothing depends on my memory.
- You own it
- Everything is built in your account, documented, and yours to keep, whether we keep working together or not.
